"Yes there is... it's about my fiancé, Giredi." Noel replied.
"And how would that arrangement work now, exactly?" Nalery asked.
"That's another matter... first I need to say something." Noel said. "I found out that she has a half sister."

"A half sister?" Karu asked. "How is that possible?"

"I noticed that the officer General Larentine sent to aid me had the same family name." Noel explained. "I researched it in the military records and found out that a man in the Nocturnian military by the name of Rulio Deriana fathered two children by different mothers... one of which was my father's arch-nemesis over three decades ago. After she was defeated and put away, Rulio married and they had a child together named Elsa Deriana."
"Every time I hear stories about Miss Deriana," Rikusa said. "I get sad... but to think that she has a sister now? I wonder what her sister would think-"
"We must not tell her sister." Noel said. "That's why I didn't invite Elsa today... the truth about her sister would be too devastating for her."

"Wait, Elsa is that woman's sister?!" Natalia asked, shocked. "I know her from joint staff meetings. I can't believe it... Sure, they had the same last name and all, but Deriana isn't that unusual a name."
"Did General Larentine realize that?" Karu asked. "I find it hard to believe he'd knowingly assign Giredi's half sister to you..."

Noel looked down. "To be honest, I'm not sure. Yesterday was the first I've heard of it."
"I would advise us not to tell Giredi either, Your Highness." Yuriis suggested. "She probably doesn't even have a concept of a sister."
"Makes sense." Noel said.

"Wouldn't this Elsa already know that her father's first wife dissappeared?" Kort asked. "Unless her father never mentioned his first wife at all."

"You all are raising some good points," Noel said. "...but I hardly want to make an investigation out of this. If they're hiding it from the kids, they must have their reasons."
"I'm not sure why you're still bothering with her since you can't marry her, Prince." Dreva commented.

"The thing about being heir to the throne," Kort commented, "You can always rewrite the laws."
"There's the question of succession too," Natalia pointed out. "One of the duties of an overlord is to produce an heir to the throne. Of course not having a clear successor isn't exactly rare in history."

"To produce an heir is the only reason for marriage." Dreva said. "...right Prince?"
"Well uh..." Noel stuttered.
"If you're still in love with her, there's got to be another way, right?" Rikusa commented.
Noel's eyes shifted. "Well yeah, but..."
"That's so romantic!" Nalery interrupted. "True love crossing the boundaries of gender!"
"Okay, okay, wait..." Noel said. "I know you all are interested in me right now, but I gathered you here for you to get to know each other as well."
"Please forgive us, Prince." Dreva said softly.
"I-it's okay, let's just move on. Let's see..." Noel said, looking around the room.

"So what happened to Giredi after that incident in the port?" Karu asked.
