"But I won't own any socks!" Grega said.
"You're different, Grega." Terka responded, walking on the other side of her.
Grega turned and pointed vigorously at Terka. "Yeah, but you don't have any socks either!"
"Is there anything around here other than goblins?" Tari asked.

"This guy's always been like that," Yerth said, slapping Kani on the back. "He's pretty reliable though."
"There are a few other monsters," Vira said. "The other kinds tend to travel alone though. Unless we wander into their nesting ground, we shouldn't see many of them."
Megumi grabbed Tari's hand and held it tightly. "We'll be fine as long as we stay close," she said, smiling at Tari.

"I just wish I had a weapon to protect you with." Tari said.
Terka looked around the forest as the group walked. "Strange... we've been walking for at least a mile now and no sign of anything."

"There should be a clearing soon," Vira said.
"It's ok Tari," Megumi said, smiling at her. "Just knowing you're next to me is enough."
The trees became less widespread as the forest gave way to a clearing. Standing in it were dozens of large creatures that looked a bit like cows, but were much bigger, with antlers more like deer and sharp teeth.
Kazuki immediately drew his sword. "Watch out," He said.
"Wait," Kani said. "These things don't seem to be reacting to us."

"They're so kyuuute!" Grega exclaimed. She started toward one when Terka grabbed her cloak collar, pulling her back. "Nooo... must... pet them! And hug them and squeeze them and take them home with me!"
"That's an odd thing to call cute." Tari commented, keeping her distance.

The monster Grega had started to walk towards looked down at her, then looked back down at the ground, ignoring her.
"They won't attack unless we attack them first," Vira said.
Kazuki put his sword away. "If you're sure they're not going to atack," he said.

As the group carefully walked past the creatures, Grega looked around at the curiously. She noticed one standing up to move over to a nearby patch of grass. "They're so cute and lazy..."
"Keep walking." Terka scolded with her hand on Grega's shoulder.
"They seem peaceful." Kaori commented. "Do the goblins or anything else bother them?"

"Sometimes the goblins hunt them for food," Vira commented. "One or two can feed a group of goblins for a long time."
"They look like they'd taste gamey," Kani commented.

"But goblins aren't that big, maybe two feet tall?" Tari commented. "And they eat these things?
"Small creatures can be very strong when in large groups." Terka said.
"...so there's that many of them?" Kaori said.

"Yes, some groups of goblins are very big," Vira said. "Other groups are a lot smaller though. They eat other things as well though."
"Goblins have been known to take animals and food from farms too, Megumi added. "That's usually when food becomes scarce, so they don't do it often. Plus there aren't many farms around here."
"Sounds like they can be nasty little things," Yerth said.
