The Snake Captain Saturday May 16th, 4646 at 2:19 PM in Hachira Rurik opened the hatch and stepped out on the deck of the Twilight Venom, squinted in the bright sun, and took a deep breath. "Ah the salty air. That sea breeze in your face. It really stimulates the blood," he said to no one in particular. "Looks like it's going to be a bright, sunny day. Sicking." He looked around and saw some crewmen going about their tasks. "You there, crewman!" he called out to the nearest one. The crewman stopped what he was doing and hurried over. "Crewman Fik reporting sir!" he said. "At ease, crewman," Rurik replied. "I'm looking for Commander Juris. Have you seen her?" "No sir," crewman Fik replied. "Very well then, I'll find her myself. It shouldn't take long, I know this ship like the back of my hand," Rurik said, holding up his hand and looking at it. "Sir, that's your palm," Crewman Fik replied with an uncertain tone. "Exactly," Rurik replied. "The palm faces back, so obviously it's the back of your hand. That's why I'm the captain and you're the crewman, crewman. Now back to work, I'm off to find Nalery." Rurik went back inside and headed to the bridge. He passed several more crewmen in the corridors on his way to the there.

"Looking for someone, sir?" Nalery's voice came from behind Rurik.

"Ies, I'm looking for Nalery, Nalery. If you see her, tell her to report to the bridge," Rurik said without turning around. "Wait a minute." He finally turned around. "I was just looking for you Nalery. Come with me to the bridge."

"Yes Captain." Nalery acknowledged, then followed Rurik.

Rurik walked onto the bridge with Nalery following. "Now then, Nalery," he began. "As you may know, there have been reports of pirates in the area. Our job is to stop them. To that end, we'll sail around in circles. This way, we're sure to run across them eventually."

"A flawless plan, Captain." Nalery said sarcastically.

"Indeed it is," Rurik replied. "Now then," he turned to look towards the bow of the ship. "Helmsman, set a circular course that way," He pointed forward.
The sailor at the helm looked confused, unsure about how to carry out the vague and nonsensical order. "Aye captain," she said after a slight pause, turning the ship's wheel to change course so they weren't heading directly where Rurik pointed.

Nalery yawned while waiting beside Rurik.

"Right, now that that's settled, we'll need to plan some sort of plan," Rurik stated. "Pirates are a tricky bunch. We'll have to be just as tricky if we're going to catch them. If they realize this is a military ship, they'll just run. So we should put up a sign saying we're not a military ship. This way they'll think we're a helpless merchant ship. That's when we'll get them."

"Better add how the 22 cannons on either side of the ship are for fishing then." Nalery added.
