The crewman weakly looked over to her captain. “But c.. captain... we're not... dead yet...”

"An irrelevant detail," Rurik said. He looked across the water at his ship navigating the treacherous waters surrounded the island. "I can use my snakes to make a raft."

Nalery scowled at Rurik, then looked down at the sailor. “Hang in there. I'm going to get help.” she said, then stood up. She glanced back at her captain before starting back to the prison to find a doctor or healer of some kind.

Rurik shrugged his shoulders and went to the shoreline. He then summoned several snakes. "Alright, form yourselves into a raft," he said. The snakes looked at him, then obeyed his command interweaving themselves together. "Looks like I might need a few more snakes." Rurik said.

Suddenly, a sea creature rose out of the water in front of Rurik. It looked about the size of a large dolphin at first, before water cleared away, revealing it to be a sea serpent.

Rurik took a step back in surprise at the new arrival, and his partly formed snake raft came undone.

“Another brilliant idea of yours, Rurik?” the serpent hissed as it looked down at the confused snakes.
