"I'm not going to just give up," Asina said. She then turned back to Noel. "So where exactly is this gate? We've been here for a while, but we haven't found any gates of any kind. Maybe if you could tell us a bit more about it, we could help. You can come to my house and we can talk about it over a nice cup of tea? Doesn't that sound nice?"
Despite Asina's efforts, Noel continued forward.
"I don't think he's interested in us at all," Kiros said. "But what could this gate he's talking about be?"
"Have you completely explored the deeper caves?" Andi asked. "If there was anything unusual down there, it might give us a clue."
"We searched the caves pretty throughly when we were looking for Kaori," Kiros said. "I don't remember finding anything that could be called a gate though. It's possible there could be something really deep down though. These caves seem to go on forever."

"Hnn..." Suserak grunted.

"Maybe you'd prefer coffee?" Asina asked. "I'm sure I have somehting that would suit your taste. I have cake too. We can sit down and discuss this gate you were talking about."
Noel continued forward, completely ignoring Asina's attempts to reason with him. He was almost through the town.
"This guy is really rude," Kiros commented. "I mean barging into our town like that and not even saying why he's here."
"At least he's almost through, so it doesn't look like he's going to hurt anyone," Andi said. "It doesn't feel right to let him go where ever he wants like this though... Plus we don't know what this gate is. It could be dangerous."

"Maybe he isn't a threat." Suserak said. "Through town is the only way to get deeper into the cave."

"Asina, maybe you should give up?" Andi said. "He's almost out of the town and you still don't seem to be getting through to him."
"Maybe you're right..." Asina said. "I just wish I could get his to tell us his name, let alone why he's here." Asina stopped walking next to Noel.
"We can't just let him go," Kiros insisted.
Noel reached the edge of town and continued deeper into the cave.
"I'll follow him and see where he goes," Andi volunteered. "If he tries to do something to damage the town I'll stop him."
"Are you sure you'll be ok?" Asina asked. "He looks really strong, and what if you get lost?"
"I know," Kiros interrupted. "My brother can go with her. If they get lost he can show Andi the way out, and he can help her if that guy attacks."

Suserak nodded to Kiros. "You should head back and make sure the kids are okay."

"Right," Kiros said. She turned and hurried back.
"Be careful," Asina said to Andi and Suserak.
Noel continued relentlessly forward through the cave.
"Don't worry, we'll be fine," Andi reassured Asina.

Suserak nodded and turned to Noel, quietly following.

Asina stood there watching Andi and Suserak follow Noel deeper into the caves. "Be careful," she said as they walked on.
Kiros ran to the orphanage to check on the kids. She went from room to room, opening the doors and peeking in. "Good," she said to herself after she checked the last room. "all the kids are safe in bed."
Noel continued on through the dark twisty passages of the caves, paying no attention to the two people following him.
"He doesn't seem any more concerned about us following him than he did when Asina tried to talk to him," Andi commented. "I'd usually try to keep hidden when following someone, but I don't see the point in this case."

"Mhmm." Suserak said.
