"So then I grabbed the scepter and ran like hell as the whole tomb collapsed around me," DeRoy said. "Course that isn't the way this usually happen." He explained. "I reckon I spend more time diggin' up broken pottery than findin' actual treasure. Though that's valuable in it's own way too."
"I'd never have thought something like that actually happened to treasure hunters," Megumi commented. "It seems like something you'd read in a book."
Kazuki stopped an looked at the city he hadn't seen since the Nocturnian conquest. "I can't believe it's the same city.." he said.

"What about that sword you're looking for?" Tari asked DeRoy.
Kaori looked at Kazuki, then back at Tophiopolis. "It's that different?" she asked.

"I know that it's in a cave somewhere deep in the forests. I reckon that cave was used as an alter for the worship of an ancient god," DeRoy said. 'Not much to go on, but I'll find it someday."
"The walls to the city were painted a bright white," Kazuki explained. "There were trees everywhere and the castle matched the walls. Now look at it. It doesn't look like anyone's maintained the walls at all. Most of the trees are gone, and the castle... It looks like an average Nocturnian fort."

"You said you come here often," Terka said to DeRoy. "...is it really safe for humans to just enter like this?"
"Let's just go in, we didn't come all this way to chicken out." Tari said, holding on to Megumi's hand.

"Those Nocturnians don't care much about the comings and goings of a few humans," Deroy said. "Unless they think someone's acting suspicious, they generally just wave people though without even searchin them."
Megumi squeezed Tari's hand. "I'm sure we'll be fine," she said.
"If there is a problem," Vira said, "We can just beat the guard and hide in the city for a while."

"Sounds like a plan!" Grega exclaimed, walking toward the city.

"That's only if there's a problem," Vira remarked.
"That there's the main gate," DeRoy said, pointing to a gate with a guard.
"Let's go," Kazuki said, as he started walking toward the gate.

As the group walked up to the gate, Grega marched past the guard, trying to act serious with an obviously fake salute. "Good job there, soldier!" she said in a low tone.
The Nocturnian guard waved her on obliviously. "Yeah, yeah, whatever..." he grunted.
Terka walked up to Grega, nudging her as a prompt to behave.

Vira sighed and then walked past the guard without saying a word.
Megumi smiled at Tari. "Let's go, ok?" She said and started to walk past the guard, still holding Tari's hand
"I don't see what you're all so nervous about," DeRoy said. He walked past the guard, and tipped his hat. "Howdey,' he said as he walked by.

After the group made it well past the gate, Kaori sighed some tension away. "That went better than I thought... so what are we doing first?"
"Most of us need resupplying at the marketplace." Terka noted. "The rest of us have various other matters to take care of. But we should be cautious and try not to split up too much in any case."
"Well I need to get Splinter fixed," Tari commented. "But that can wait."
